JOB DETAILS

  • Handling all general Front Office Duties Managing patient phone calls and inquiries

  • Make and confirm appointments, handle insurance verification

  • Check patients in, collecting all appropriate information for charts

  • Collect and post copayments Room patients taking and documenting vitals and medical history information

  • Use EMR system to update patient information

  • Prep charts for all appointments

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have 1+ years solid experience working in a private medical practice

  • Experience taking vital signs

  • Experience with EMR Systems, Practice Fusion preferred

  • Professional level of communication,

  • Ability to triage phone calls and follow up accordingly

  • Must be willing to work part time, open to starting as a temp employee

  • Experience in Infectious Disease a plus!

 

SCHEDULE, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Flex schedule either Mon-Fri afternoons (20hr week) OR Mon, Wed, Thurs 8am-5pm (21hr week) Compensation Temp rate DOE, Perm rate $20-$21/hr plus sick time.  Paid holidays for Permanent hire and specific days depending on worker's schedule

ABOUT THE POSITION

  • This is a Lead Back Office position with an opportunity to be promoted to Office Manager

  • Coordinate with the Front Office to ensure a smooth patient flow and best use of doctor/patient time

  • Handle medical assisting tasks including injections, EKGs, and blood draws

  • Assist Front Office as needed in handling phones, making and confirming appointments and other Front Office tasks to maintain a smooth flow of patients Front to Back

  • Room patients, take vitals, document medical history, allergies and concerns

  • Prep patients for exams and assist in procedures,

  • Blood draw, injections and urinalysis, coordinating labwork

  • Coordinate prescriptions with patients and pharmacies

  • Provide patients with instructions and details about medications and treatments per doctor's direction

  • Ensure practice flow is smooth Front to Back with excellent patient care

  • Coordinate updates of patient data into EMR Systems (MD Synergy & Alethea Smart)

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must take initiative in identifying what needs to be done, who needs attention or assistance!

  • Dependable, able to arrive on time, ready and excited for the day's patients to arrive

  • Must be an experienced MA who is friendly, proactive and upbeat to handle the Back Office and Assist with Front Office as needed

  • Computer proficient to quickly learn EMR and maintain patient chart details in a clear and professional manner

  • Open-minded to learning new tasks and skills with a strong attention to detail and a desire to continue to improve the patient experience.

  • Must have a positive and upbeat personality

  • Excellent blood draw skills, EKGs and injections Bilingual Spanish preferred

 

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

  • Monday-Friday 8a-5p, one hour lunch break $20-$24 per hour depending on experience

  • Must be a formally trained Medical Assistant

  • Assist practitioner during treatments handle blood draws and perform B-12 injections, wound care, stitch removal

  • Discuss product and service costs/packages with clients independent of practitioner

  • Assist with injectables and laser skincare procedures
