JOB DETAILS

  • Responsible for preparing and measuring the necessary ingredients, mixing them according to the formulation provided by the pharmacist, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of the compounded medication as directed by a physician. 

  • Follow all the applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines related to compounding practices and maintain a high standard of safety and quality.

  • Collaborate with other pharmacist to dispense compounded medications to patients

  • Manage drug inventory by monitoring expirations and supply levels

  • Counsel patients on compounded medications answering questions and providing informational resources to patients

  • Handle patient calls, submit insurance claims and coordinate payment collection

  • Prepare and distribute reports to providers, nursing and custody as needed

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years’ experience in compounding regulated medications for patients based on doctor prescription

  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines related to compounding practices 

  • Experience working in a pharmacy handling compounded medications

  • Ability to independently prioritize work with minimal direct supervision

  • Professional communication skills including English speaking and writing to ensure clear communication

  • Computer proficient with experience using an EMR/EHR system (electronic health record), word processing and spreadsheet programs to manage and retrieve patient information

  • Professional ability to interact effectively and communicate clearly with patients, colleagues and referring physicians

 

LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduated from an accredited Pharmacist or Pharmacy Tech program (Pharmacy Tech Certification or PharmD Diploma must be presented upon application.)

  • Pharmacist salary level requires completed PharmD degree

JOB DETAILS

  • As an LCSW you will provide clinical therapy services and crisis intervention to patients and families, participate in coordination of SWING and Skilled Nursing Facility admissions, discharges, and Utilization Review, 

  • Teach in-service staff trainings on Social Services related topics, coordinate facility participation in telehealth programs, and assist in grant writing

  • Conducts crisis intervention with patients and/or families upon request of MD

  • Assists MD in assessment and transfer to an appropriate facility for patients who require an involuntary psychiatric hold

  • Performs child abuse and dependent adult abuse reporting functions as required. 

  • Works closely with medical providers, psychiatrists, other service providers, patients and/or families to provide appropriate biopsychosocial assessments and diagnoses, develop mental health treatment plans, and provides clinical social work treatment to patients who present with such issues as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, PTSD, substance-abuse issues, somatoform disorders, cognitive disorders, psychotic disorders or disorders usually first diagnosed in childhood

  • Maintains appropriate documentation of all clinical services provided in the patient electronic medical record and completes all required documentation for billing.

  • Communicates with medical and ancillary staff, patients, and families to help coordinate SNF admits and discharges, supervises Social Workers’ interventions with in-patients, and participates in utilization review meetings; participates in SNF Interdisciplinary Care Plan Team meetings.

  • Works with California Telehealth Network, the California Telehealth Resource Center, providers of professional specialty telehealth services, and CIMC physicians and staff to assess facility and community needs for telehealth services and to develop and implement programs to meet these needs.

  • Be compliant with organizational policies and procedures and related departmental procedures.

  • Follow all HIPAA regulations as outlined in the HIPAA Policy and Procedure Manual.

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Excellent customer service skills for both inter and intra department. 

  • Other duties as assigned by the physicians and Supervisor. 

  • Other general administrative duties and projects as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 5 years of experience working as a medical social worker.

  • Bilingual preferred

  • Hold a valid license as a Clinical Social Worker in the State of California.

  • BLS/CPR

  • Communicate well both verbally and in writing with patients, medical staff, and community agency representatives; maintain effective working relationships.

  • Develop appropriate therapeutic relationships with patients, develop and implement appropriate treatment plans for patients based on appropriate diagnoses and within ethical and legal guidelines.

  • Effectively manage staff, programs, and departmental budget.

  • Maintain record-keeping systems. 

  • Maintain confidential information.

  • Clinical Social Work assessment and intervention skills, including crisis intervention skills for the ER.

  • Ethical and legal principles guiding clinical therapy services.

  • Basic principles of social services, human behavior, and social problems call for the use of public and private community resources.

  • Medicare and Medi-Cal regulations for admissions, qualifying stays, and discharges for all levels of in-patient care provided by the facility.

  • Community and financial resources available to patients and how to access these resources.

  • Hospital procedures and record-keeping requirements.

  • Contractual requirements for various public-health and grant-funded programs.

  • Quality-assurance policies and procedures.

  • Master’s degree in social work from an accredited university

 

SCHEDULE, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • M-F schedule with 2-3 days per week on site.  Balance of days may be remote

  • Compensation for overnight stays each week if not living on Catalina Island

  • Stipend for transportation to/from the island for work purposes

  • Salary Range: $49.00 To 55.00 Hourly

  • Perform history and physical examinations of oncology patients, provide accurate assessment and evaluation of oncology patients, and implement appropriate treatment plans under established protocols and physician supervision

  • Work with patients to Identify the optimum treatments that will be both tolerable and effective

  • Apply chemotherapy and new treatments including target and immunotherapy to patients,

  • Work with patients to utilize all resources available including infusions and specialty medications  

  • Coordinate with other specialists both locally and at renowned academic centers. 

  • Provide assistance as office management in the doctor’s absence

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Detailed background in oncology clinical medicine

  • Ability to independently prioritize work with minimal direct supervision

  • Professional communication skills including English speaking and writing to ensure clear communication

  • Experienced using an EMR/EHR system (electronic health record), word processing and spreadsheet programs to manage and retrieve patient information

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision in the outpatient environment while performing a variety of tasks

  • Skill in communicating and translating medical information to patients and their families in a clear way they will understand, including giving patients and families an understanding of their medical condition and what they might expect in the future. 

  • Knowledge and proficiency of the English language sufficient to read medical reports and records with comprehension and to prepare reports and correspondence 

  • Professional ability to interact effectively and communicate accurately with patients, colleagues and referring physicians

  • Skill in working as part of a team and collaborating with colleagues

  • Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload and frequent interruption Skill in prioritizing assignment to complete work in a timely and accurate manner

LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

SCHEDULE, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Full Time Schedule Monday-Friday may have occasional partial day Saturday but these rotate between staff so as not to pose a hardship on any one staff member

  • Salary: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year depending on experience

  • Evaluates patient needs, establishes physical therapy treatment plans and goals for each patient. Carries out prescribed treatments as ordered by the physician

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bilingual Spanish required! 

  • Graduation from a School of Physical Therapy approved by the Council of Medical Education of the American Medical Association

  • Possession of a valid license to practice Physical Therapy issued by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs, Physical Therapy Board

  • Ability to perform very heavy work-Exerting more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or more than 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or more than 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are more than those for heavy work.

  • Minimum one year commitment

  • MUST LIVE ON CATALINA ISLAND during the week (rent subsidy provided AND $250 for transportation off-island on the weekends provided)

  • Computer proficient with experience using an EMR. Athena EMR experience is highly desired but some EMR experience is required!

  • M-F 8a-5pm (plenty of time to enjoy sunset dinners at the beach!!!)
