When filling in for Front Office:

  • Make and confirm appointments ensuring a solid schedule for best use of practitioner time

REQUIREMENTS

  • VERY Strong blood draw skills - must be proficient with even hard-to-draw patients including geriatric and cancer patients

  • 5+ years prior experience working in healthcare is required

  • Preference given to Medical Assistants with Internal Medicine experience

  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills

  • Experience with Epic System preferred

  • Must have a professional-level of verbal communication and presentation

  • Applicants must be comfortable maintaining a natural appearance with conservative makeup / personal grooming style

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Medium level of computer proficiency with an ability to pick up new programs with relative ease and light guidance

  • Physical ability to be on your feet most of the day 

  • Willingness to assist throughout the practice as needed as this position works hand-in-hand with Front Office team members

  • Must have a professional-level of verbal communication and presentation                                     

  • Experience with concierge medicine highly desired

  • Moderate level of computer proficiency required and an ability to trouble-shoot when needed


SCHEDULE, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

JOB DETAILS

  • This position handles all Back Office and assists with some Front Office duties when needed

  • Room patients, take medical history, assist with minor procedures including biopsies

  • Set up surgical trays, remove sutures, clean wounds

  • Triage calls for patients with clinical questions

  • Handle prior authorizations

  • Assist Front Office with check in, check out, collection of fees and scheduling follow-up appointments

JOB DETAILS

  • Room 10-15 patients a day, taking vitals, documenting medical history and medications in EMR system

  • Assist with all Back Office duties including the setup for medical procedures, specimen collection, cultures/PCR swabs, sterilization of equipment, lab test and scope processing, and ordering supplies

  • Point of contact for patients who have medical questions regarding procedures, medications, symptoms, imaging studies

  • Provide explanation to patients regarding laboratory results (including PCR and culture findings), educating patients on test purpose, accuracy, limitations, and turnaround times

  • Assist as needed with Front Office tasks including patient check-in/out, appointment scheduling, answering phones, explanation of insurance benefits, surgery scheduling, and pre-op clearances and collecting and processing patient payments, including co-pays and deductibles

  • Collaborate with the billing department and handle clinical notes for claims processing.

  • Process medical records requests in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with legal and privacy regulations

  • Input patient profiles into the EMR system upon registration

  • Write orders for imaging, blood work, and referrals according to the doctor’s instructions

  • Order medications through pharmacies, prescriptions refills, and review directions with patients

 
REQUIREMENTS 

  • 2-4 years’ prior experience in Medical Private Practice as a Medical Assistant and Front Office 

  • Upbeat and enthusiastic personality to engage patients

  • Personal polished presentation, professional communication skills (written and spoken)

  • Fine attention to detail and follow-through; able to prioritize and manage tasks with minimum guidance
